KUWAIT CITY, Dec. 9 (Xinhua) -- Kuwait will host the 20th FINA World Men's Junior Water Polo Championships from Dec.12 to 20, Sheikh Khaled Al-Bader Al-Sabah, Head of the Kuwait and Asian Swimming Sports Federations, said on Monday.
At a press conference held in Farwaniya Governorate of Kuwait, he said that altogether 20 teams will participate in the championships.
Organizing this major international event would help develop Kuwait's water polo sport, where it will be working on equipping the sports facilities, and give the young cadres an experience in organizing and managing tournaments, he noted.
FINA President Julio Maglione said that the facility on which the championship will be held is distinguished and comparable to the ones that host the Olympic and world championships for adults.
He stressed that this tournament is the most important event on the agenda of the federation until the date of the next Olympic Games (Tokyo 2020).
