HANGZHOU, China, Dec. 12 (Xinhua) -- Center Hu Jinqiu and Liu Zheng combined to score 46 points to help the Zhejiang Lions beat the Bayi Rockets 95-76 in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league here on Thursday.
Hu Jinqiu and Liu Zheng scored 23 points respectively, while Sun Minghui added 12 points for Zhejiang.
Fu Hao came off the bench to get team-high 18 points for Bayi.
Zhejiang missed starting guard Aaron Jackson because of home birth after Kenneth Faried was sacked off the day before the match.
Zhejiang stormed to a 7-2 run after Li Jinglong hit a 3-pointer to make it 28-20 in the first quarter.
The visitor used a 7-0 run, with 5 points from Chinese rising star Guo Haowen of Bayi, to make it 32-31 with about 6 minutes remaining. Liu Zheng scored five consecutive points to help the home side led 43-36 at half.
Bayi cut the gap to 7 points after Ning Hongyu hit a 3-pointer, but Liu Zheng was unstoppable. The veteran swingman contributed 10 points in the third quarter and the host led 73-59 into the last period.
Zhejiang continued to enlarge the advantage in the fourth quarter and easily sealed the victory.
