ASWAN, Egypt, Dec. 12 (Xinhua) -- Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi said on Thursday that Sustainable Peace, Security and Development in Aswan forum has helped address the challenges hindering reconstruction, development and peace process in Africa.
Speaking at the closing session of a two-day forum held in the Egyptian city of Aswan, al-Sisi said Africa's prominent issues were "discussed from an integrated perspective" at the forum.
The debate sessions, which were attended by African leaders of Chad, Niger, Senegal, Nigeria and prominent representatives of international organizations, saw "serious and frank discussions with the aim of further recognizing such challenges and crystallizing the efforts needed to find out actual solutions for them," the president said.
"Egypt believed that African countries have political willingness to overcome different challenges related to security and sustainable development," he noted.
The participants of the forum managed to provide accurate description and analysis for challenges that face Africa and cause obstacles, al-Sisi said.
The Aswan Forum was announced by al-Sisi in February during an African Union summit in Addis Ababa, capital of Ethiopia.
Under its leadership of the African Union, Egypt is taking the initiative to launch this forum to address challenges, security, development, and opportunities in Africa.
