LONDON, Dec. 13 (Xinhua) -- Premier League leader Liverpool has signed a new deal with manager Jurgen Klopp on Friday, keeping the German in Anfield until 2024.

Klopp, 52, joined the Reds in 2015. He led Liverpool to win the Champions Leauge last season and finished second in the Premier League.

The Reds is unbeatable this season in the Premier League as it holds a tight grip on the top position in the rankings with 15 victories and one draw, eight points ahead of second place Leicester City and 14 points ahead of defending champion Manchester City.

"We feel this represents one of the big moments of our stewardship of Liverpool Football Club so far as we believe there is no better manager than Jurgen. The decision also keeps with the club's overall strategy of building from a position of strength," a statement on the club's website quoted the joint speech of principal owner John Henry, chairman Tom Werner and FSG president Mike Gordon.

Assistant managers Peter Krawietz and Pepijn Lijnders have also agreed deals to continue working collaboratively alongside Klopp.

"It's a wonderful club we really feel home," said Klopp on a video. "That's a good moment to continue this."

"When I see the development of the club and the collaborative work that continues to take place, I feel my contribution can only grow," said the former Dortmund coach Klopp.

"When the call came in autumn 2015, I felt we were perfect for each other; if anything, now I feel I underestimated that. It is only with a total belief that the collaboration remains totally complementary on both sides that I am able to make this commitment to 2024."
