BEIJING, Dec. 16 (Xinhua) -- An exhibition featuring Lin Zexu, a Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) official who led the fight against opium smuggling, has opened in Beijing.
As this year marks the 180th anniversary of Lin destroying opium in Humen, south China's Guangdong Province, in 1839, the exhibition looks back at the history and Lin's life and career.
The exhibition is held in a mansion in Xicheng District, where Lin frequented during his tenure in Beijing. The city government in 2018 planned to build the mansion into an anti-drug education base.
Visitors can also review the history of China's endeavors in narcotics control and the achievements the country has made in this field.
