BUDAPEST, Dec. 18 (Xinhua) -- The French visitors from Montpellier marched over the Hungarians Sopron Basket 77-70 in Group B of the 8th round of the women's basketball EuroLeague here on Wednesday night.
The French team was better in the first and the decisive last quarter (23-21, 15-17, 14-19, 25-13).
The trio of Stephanie Mavunga, Samantha Whitcomb and Gabby Williams contributed a lot to Montpellier, while the Hungarian team had to play without their two most strong players due to injuries: Jelena Brooks and Tina Jovanovic.
"We will learn from this match and hope to win such matches in the future. Despite the defeat, I am proud of the team because they fought all the way through the match," David Gaspar, head coach of Sopron Basket, said after the game.
