Kuang Liang is on the way to the community office to send an umbrella in Xinjian district of Nanchang, capital of east China's Jiangxi Province, Dec. 18, 2019. Kuang Liang, 76, is well-known and widely respected in Huaguoshan community of Nanchang city, capital of east China's Jiangxi Province. He has been repairing umbrellas for local residents for free since 2014. During his volunteering work, he noticed that a lot of people were caught into trouble when they lost their umbrellas or forgot to take umbrellas with them in rainy days. So he set up an umbrella closet at the community office, providing umbrellas free of charge for those people in need. In order to make sure the umbrellas are sufficient, Kuang collected broken umbrellas and spare parts wherever he go and put them into the closet after cleaning, repairing and resembling. Many people were touched by him and sent their own broken umbrella to Kuang. In the past five years, Kuang has been providing more than a thousand umbrellas for the closet, benefiting numerous residents. "I'm always moved when people go a long way to return the umbrella," Kuang said, "It makes me think what I'm doing is worthwhile because the love has been passed on." (Xinhua/Peng Zhaozhi)
