KHOST, Afghanistan, Dec. 26 (Xinhua) -- Five civilians were wounded as a blast rocked Khost city, the capital of eastern Khost province on Thursday, provincial police spokesman Haider Adil said.
The explosive device placed in a vase along a road in Khost city went off in the morning rush hour, wounding five civilians, the official added.
No security personnel were harmed in the blast, said the official.
This is the second blast in the militancy-plagued Afghanistan since Thursday morning.
The previous blast, which happened in the northern Balkh province, claimed the lives of six soldiers and wounded three others.
