BEIJING, Dec. 29 (Xinhua) -- Bayi rode on a dominant fourth quarter to rout of Hebei 91-66 at home in the 16th round of the Women's Chinese Basketball Association (WCBA) on Sunday.
With foreign center Stefanie Dolson watching from the bench, Hebei could not maintain offensive momentum in the final quarter.
Bayi outscored the visitors 39-14 in the last 10 minutes. Jin Jiabao's three-pointer made it a 10-point game for Bayi with 5:28 remaining, and they were never threatened from there. With one fewer game played, Bayi climb to sixth at the table with a win-loss record of 12-3.
Jin shot 7 of 12 from the field, including 5 of 9 three-pointers, to pocket 19 points. Wang Xuemeng finished a game-high 23 points and 11 rebounds. Sun Mengran and Pan Zhenqi added 13 and 12 respectively.
After the two sides leveled at 22-all, Li Meng buried a three-pointer and followed with a turnaround jumper to move Bayi 27-22 in front at the first quarter buzzer.
Powered by Dolson, Hebei answered with six straight points to open the second quarter, which witnessed low shooting percentage and several turnovers from both teams.
Li's jumper concluded the hosts' scoring drought in almost six minutes. Despite only snatching six points in the 10-minute span, Bayi managed a 33-32 halftime advantage.
Bayi players improved performance from the 3-point range after the interval, with Jin and Wang combining five 3s. But they failed to restrain Dolson in the paint, as Dolson's two free throws set it 52-all heading into the final frame.
Dolson, who bagged 20 points and 12 boards, was ruled to play just three quarters against Bayi.
Wang, Sun and Jin swept 20 points into the fourth for Bayi, who pulled away without Dolson protecting the rim.
Huang Ping-Jen scored 19 points for 10th-ranked Hebei. Zhang Yaqi had 10.
