BEIJING, Dec. 29 (Xinhua) -- The Organization Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) will offer financial assistance to Party members living in difficulty ahead of the coming Spring Festival, which falls on Jan. 25, 2020.
Party members of advanced age will also be covered in the plan, which aims to express sympathy and solicitude for them as the New Year and the Spring Festival draw near, according to the department.
Grassroots-level officials, particularly those engaged in poverty alleviation work, as well as awardees of national-level honors and families of officials who died on duty will also receive the assistance, the department said.
A total of 197.4 million yuan (around 28.2 million U.S. dollars) will be appropriated from the CPC membership dues for this special purpose, the department said.
