TIANJIN, Dec. 31 (Xinhua) -- Jarnell Stokes scored a team-high 33 points to help the Xinjiang Flying Tigers beat the Tianjin Pioneers 118-101 in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) here on Tuesday.
Xiralijan Muhtar's three-pointers gave Xinjiang a 7-6 lead in the first quarter and Tianjin never made a comeback.
Six players reached double figures for Xinjiang while Abdusalam Abdurexit and Zhou Qi were sidelined for injury. Kay Felder, Tang Caiyu and Yu Changdong each scored 13 points while Xiralijan Muhtar and Zeng Lingxu each scored 12 points. Jarnell Stokes scored 33 points in 36 minutes.
Despite his team's defeat, Marko Todorovic scored a game-high 38 points and grabbed 15 rebounds, with Chasson Randle added 21 points for Tianjin.
Tianjin suffered a 5-game losing streak and they will play against Beijing Ducks on Thursday.
