DONGGUAN, China, Jan. 1 (Xinhua) -- Marshon Brooks scored a game-high 34 points as Guangdong Southern Tigers trounced Shenzhen Aviators 132-104 in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league here on Wednesday, extending their winning streak to six.
"We made full preparation before the game. Our defense showed a high level," Guangdong coach Du Feng said after the game.
Hu Mingxuan had 24 points, Yi Jianlian had 22 points plus 8 rebounds, Sonny Weems dished out 17 assists for Guangdong. Jarell Martin scored a team-high but only 16 points for Shenzhen.
After the tip-off, Guangdong stormed to a 15-0 run and led 45-27 into the second quarter. Brooks hit three 3-pointers to score 11 points in the second quarter and the hosts routed the visitors to lead 76-47 into the halftime break.
The second half turned to be a training game as both sides sent bench players onto the court.
