SHENZHEN, Jan. 5 (Xinhua) -- Shenzhen Aviators came back from a 15- point deficit to beat Guangzhou Long Lions 96-90 in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league here on Sunday.
It was Guangzhou's 13th consecutive defeat of this season, the longest losing streak among all the teams.
Shenzhen were 64-62 down after three quarters before Dwight Buycks scored 15 points in the fourth to turn the game around. The home side was struggling to catch up with the visitors most of the time as Guangzhou built a 41-26 lead midway through the second quarter.
"It was a tough game, especially when we didn't get a good start," Shenzhen coach Wang Jianjun said after the game.
"In the second half we defended well and focused on offense so we could win the game at last," Wang added.
Buycks had 25 points, 14 rebounds and six assists for Shenzhen. Andrew Nicolson scored a game-high 29 points while Chen Yingjun added 19 for Guangzhou.
Shenzhen are in 12th place, while Guangzhou stay at 18th.
