BEIJING, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- Makoto Ozone, a Japanese pianist, will perform a jazz concert at the National Center for the Performing Arts (NCPA) on Sunday.

As part of the 20th "Meeting in Beijing" Arts Festival, the piano virtuoso will play three piano trios composed by himself, namely "Bouncing in My New Shoes," "My Witch's Blue" and "Asian Dream," as well as Eijiro Nakagawa's "Into the Sky" and V. Monti's "Csardas."

The two-hour concert will also feature Shinnosuke Takahashi as the drummer, Eijiro Nakagawa as the trombonist and Kengo Nakamura as the bassist.

Born in Kobe, Ozone was self-taught in jazz under the guidance of his father. He started his musical journey with the organ and then turned to the piano. Ozone made his name when he gave a solo recital at the Carnegie Hall in New York in 1983 after his graduation from Berklee College of Music.

Tickets for the performance are now available on the official website of the NCPA (www.chncpa.org).
