BEIJING, Jan. 18 (Xinhua) -- A 5.4-magnitude earthquake hit Payzawat County of Kashgar Prefecture in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region at 00:05 a.m. Saturday (Beijing Time), according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).
The epicenter, with a depth of 20 km, was monitored at 39.83 degrees north latitude and 77.18 degrees east longitude, the CENC said in an initial report.
