SHANGHAI, Jan. 19 (Xinhua) -- Shanghai health authorities said on Sunday that the city remains highly attentive to the prevention and control of the new coronavirus-associated pneumonia.
All types of medical institutions across the city have currently increased manpower in pre-examination triage and fever clinics to enhance the monitoring, screening, diagnosis and treatment of suspected cases, according to the municipal health commission.
The central Chinese city of Wuhan has reported a total of 62 new coronavirus-related pneumonia cases as of the end of Friday, among whom two had died, eight were in critical condition, and 19 had been discharged from hospital.
The commission said Shanghai made a quick response to set up a working team and an expert group to develop emergency plans after the epidemic in Wuhan was reported.
