BEIRUT, Jan. 22 (Xinhua) -- The Lebanese University signed on Wednesday a cooperation agreement with Huawei Technologies, a Chinese multinational technology company, the National News Agency reported.
The agreement aims at implementing the programs of Huawei Authorized Information and Network Academy at the university.
The programs will also allow the university to develop its curriculum and provide teachers and students with the necessary training and knowledge.
Paul Fengnan, CEO at Huawei Levant Region, said he is keen to support the Lebanese University by developing its programs and training its teachers and students.
Meanwhile, Fouad Ayoub, president of the Lebanese University, highlighted the need to adopt this agreement as a regulatory framework for all joint activities between the university and Huawei.
"We aim to strengthen the university's strategy by adopting modern education in computer science and communications in accordance with the leadership and educational quality maintained by the university since its establishment," he said.
