WUHAN, Jan. 27 (Xinhua) -- Entrusted by Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, Premier Li Keqiang on Monday arrived in Wuhan, central China's Hubei Province, to inspect and direct the efforts for the prevention and control of the novel coronavirus outbreak.
Li heads the leading group of the CPC Central Committee on the prevention and control of the novel coronavirus outbreak.
The Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee on Saturday held a meeting on the novel coronavirus outbreak prevention and control work, making further study of and new arrangements on issues especially related to the treatment of patients.
At the meeting, Xi stressed that Party committees and governments at all levels must step up all-around efforts in accordance with decisions and plans made by the CPC Central Committee, put people's lives and health as the top priority, and take novel coronavirus outbreak prevention and control as the most important work for now, expressing confidence in winning the battle against the outbreak.

In Wuhan, Li, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, thanked front-line medical workers for their all-out efforts in treating patients and urged them to pay attention to their own protection.
He required efforts to guarantee medical resources supply, race against time to treat patients and ensure adequate market supply and stable prices. ■
