BEIJING, Feb. 3 (Xinhua) -- Senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official Chen Xi on Monday called on the Party's organizational departments to better perform their duties in the fight against the novel coronavirus outbreak.
Chen, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks at a teleconference on the work of the Party's organizational departments in the epidemic control.
Chen stressed helping Party committees and officials at all levels rise to the challenge of the virus and implement the arrangements made on epidemic prevention and control.
The CPC's enormous political and organizational advantages and close contact with the people should be translated into the advantages in curbing the epidemic, Chen said.
Noting that pointless formalities and bureaucratism are the "archenemies" in the fight against the virus, Chen warned against perfunctory work and "hollow slogans" without solving real problems in the epidemic control.
Excessive optimism, buck-passing and poor management should also be avoided, he said.
