TEHRAN, Feb. 3 (Xinhua) -- Iranian military officer Asghar Pashapour was killed in Aleppo of Syria, state IRIB TV reported on Monday.
Pashapour, who was close to Qassem Soleimani, the assassinated commander of the Quds Force of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, was killed in the battle with the Syrian opposition militants in Aleppo on Sunday, according to the report.
Iran said that it had dispatched military advisors to Syria to help Syrian army fight rebels.
