HOHHOT, Feb. 12 (Xinhua) -- A one-month online sports meet in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region is slated for Saturday, an inspiration for people to exercise indoors against the novel coronavirus outbreak, local sports officials said on Wednesday.
"Although many sports events were postponed or canceled and sports stadiums closed, we would like everyone to stay healthy with regular exercise," said Li Zhiyou, deputy director of the Inner Mongolia Sports Bureau.
The event will include sit-ups, push-ups, wall squats and parent-child jumps, each of which should be completed in 30 seconds, officials said.
Participants will be divided into senior, adult, youth and parent-child groups.
Each competitor is required to upload a 30-second video and more than two photos to the official online platform as proof of their results.
Until now, the Inner Mongolia Sports Bureau has organized dozens of social sports instructors to share their indoor exercise videos on social media and guide people at home for scientific fitness.
