Marks for heroes: front line health workers are left with sore marks on face due to wearing of masks or goggles after countless hours fighting the novel coronavirus in east China's Nanchang.

NANCHANG, Feb. 13, 2020 (Xinhua) -- Medical workers have to wear heavy protective gear with face masks or goggles tightly secured to help prevent infection during their hours' treatment of novel coronavirus patients at isolation wards of the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University in Nanchang city of east China's Jiangxi province.

As well as the mental and emotional stress of dealing with the coronavirus patients, the thick and tight protective equipment has left many hospital workers with blisters, sores and scabs on their faces and bodies.
