More AI robots have been deployed at the front lines of China's fight against the novel coronavirus epidemic in order to reduce cross-infection risks and improve efficiency.
CHANGSHA, Feb. 15, 2020 (Xinhua) -- Two delivery robots are transformed to deliver lunch and dinner for employees at enterprises which have resumed production inside an economic and technological development zone in Changsha of central China's Hunan Province.
By using unmanned driving technology, the robots can independently identify and read maps, plan paths, and complete point-to-point delivery.
The two robots are mainly responsible for delivering meals. In the delivery process, there is no need for personnel, thus reducing cross-infection risks.
China has called on the country's artificial intelligence (AI) sector to lend their technological hands to help battle the epidemic.
From disinfection and street patrols to food and medicine delivery in quarantine wards, robots are being deployed at the front lines to contain the spread of the virus.
