Hope transmits through plasma! Cured COVID-19 patients donate plasma to the critically ill patients as several patients have showed improved clinical symptoms after receiving plasma treatment.
BEIJING Feb. 18 (Xinhua) -- Cured patients who were infected with COVID-19 are called upon to donate plasma as initial results had indicated the effectiveness of convalescent plasma-derived therapeutic products in curing infected patients in severe and critical conditions.
Donors must be recovered patients who are up to the standard for being discharged from hospital. Only plasma will be collected while red blood cells, white blood cells and blood platelets will be transfused back into the donor's body.
Some recovered patients regard the donation as a way to pay back to the society after they received timely and effective treatment.
