RAMALLAH, Feb. 26 (Xinhua) -- A senior official in Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) appealed to the European Union on Wednesday to prevent Israel from executing its settlement and annexation plan in the West Bank.
Saeb Erekat, secretary general of the PLO Executive Committee, made the call during two separate meetings held in Ramallah with a delegation from the European Parliament and the EU representative in Palestine Sven Kuhn von Burgsdorff.
"Israel's plans for the West Bank received American approval," according to a statement by Erekat's office.
Meanwhile, Tayseer Khaled, member of the PLO Executive Committee, held the United States responsible for the daily Israeli violations against the Palestinians in the West Bank, Gaza Strip and East Jerusalem.
