A Chinese company has completed a 4-km concrete road named China-Ghana Friendship Road in Kpone, a community in east Ghana's port city of Tema.
ACCRA, Feb. 28 (Xinhua) -- Chinese energy firm Sunon Asogli Power Limited in Ghana announced here Tuesday that it has completed a 4-km concrete road for Kpone, a community in east Ghana's port city of Tema.
The road, which costs 4 million U.S. dollars, is named China-Ghana Friendship Road. It will bring convenience to local residents, said the company, a subsidiary of China's Shenzhen Energy Group.
"We are gathered here not just to witness the completion and commissioning of this four-kilometer concrete road, but also a new milestone in the China-Ghana friendship," said Ghanaian Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia at the completion ceremony, adding that the project is a further testimony of China as a key development partner of Ghana.

Chinese Ambassador to Ghana Wang Shiting lauded the mutual cooperation between China and Ghana, saying the road connects the past and future of the China-Ghana friendship.
"China is now the biggest trading partner of Ghana and also the biggest investor in the country. We will work together with Ghana" to push forward the implementation of all proposed projects, the ambassador said.
"We will make sure that we continue to meet the needs of the community, as it is our social responsibility," said Yang Qun, chairman of Sunon Asogli Power Limited. ■
