Aerial photo taken on March 3, 2020 shows villagers planting Ophiopogon japonicus, a traditional Chinese medicinal (TCM) herb, in the fields of Chunfeng Village in Mianxian County, northwest China's Shaanxi Province. Since 2018, the Chunfeng Village of Mianxian County has tried planting Ophiopogon japonicus, a TCM herb newly introduced into the village, and made a success. The village then established professional planting and processing cooperatives to extend its production chain of the TCM herb. Up till now, a 400 mu (about 26.7 hectares) standardized Ophiopogon japonicus breeding and planting base has been set up here with an annual output value of more than 7.2 million yuan (about 1 million U.S. dollars), creating jobs for local villagers and at the same time helping them increase their incomes.
