HANOI, March 10 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam on Tuesday confirmed the 34th case of novel coronavirus infection in the country.
The patient is a 51-year-old Vietnamese female returning home from the United States, according to the Ministry of Health.
The patient traveled to New York, transferring at South Korea's Incheon Airport, from Vietnam in February, and returned the country from Washington D.C., with a transit in Qatar, on March 2, according to the ministry.
She is currently being treated at a hospital in the central province of Binh Thuan, said the ministry.
Vietnam has so far confirmed 34 cases of novel coronavirus infection, 18 of which were reported in the recent five days since March 6 and the other 16 have been discharged from hospital.
The country has had 210 suspected cases with more than 20,000 under quarantine as of Tuesday, according to the health ministry.
