LHASA, March 16 (Xinhua) -- Workers are resuming their work on a series of infrastructure projects in southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region.
In the regional capital city of Lhasa, 32 key projects are in progress. With a total investment of over 34.7 billion yuan (nearly 5 billion U.S. dollars), the projects involve infrastructure construction, industrial development and other fields.
In the city of Shigatse, construction resumed on a number of major projects, including the construction of the Shigatse economic development area and Mt. Qomolangma cultural, tourism and creative industry park.
Meanwhile, over 10,000 workers in Tibet are continuing their work on about 430 power grid construction projects.
The region has arranged 179 projects for this year, with an expected investment of 187.2 billion yuan, up 18 percent year on year.
