NICOSIA, March 18 (Xinhua) -- In order to provide space to quarantine people returning to Cyprus from abroad, Cypriot authorities requisitioned three mountain hotels on Wednesday as the number of infected people rose further, the Cyprus Hotels Association said on Wednesday.
The organization's President Haris Loizides said that people suspected of having coronavirus have already moved into three hotels on high ground.
He said that the authorities are in contact with the association to find more hotels in seaside areas as they expect many more cases to be confirmed in the coming days.
Loizides said that this will take some time as seaside hotels are still hosting guests who are trying to return to their countries.
The government has set a March 21 deadline for the evacuation of foreign guests by all hotels. Enditem
