KUNMING, March 23 (Xinhua) -- Police in southwest China's Yunnan Province have captured four suspects and seized 11.84 kg of drugs in a cross-border drug trafficking case, local police said Sunday.

After receiving a tip-off that a drug gang was planning to transport drugs into China, police in the city of Baoshan sent a task force to the border areas to investigate.

Police caught four suspects in the China-Myanmar border city of Lincang at around 1:00 p.m. on March 12, with 21 pieces of methamphetamine weighing 11.84 kg seized from the suspects' backpacks.

The suspects confessed that they had planned to transport the drugs to the provincial capital of Kunming for sale.

Further investigation is underway.
