NANNING, March 23 (Xinhua) -- Located in south China, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region has nearly half of its poverty-stricken people living in areas with stony desertification which caused severe drinking water shortage.

During China's 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-2020) period, local authorities have stepped up the construction of water conservancy facilities, helping ease water shortage and providing safe drinking water for the locals.
