KUNMING, March 26 (Xinhua) -- Police in southwest China's Yunnan Province have captured a suspect and seized 15.33 kg of drugs in a drug trafficking case, local authorities said Thursday.
After receiving a tip-off that drug dealers were planning to transport a batch of drugs from border areas into China in February, police in Yongping County, Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture, sent a task force to relevant areas to investigate the case.
Police intercepted a vehicle at a highway toll station in Yongping at around 12:50 p.m. on March 21, with a suspect surnamed Pai caught and 44 bags of heroin weighing 15.33 kg seized from the vehicle.
Further investigation into the cases is underway, according to the local drug control office.
