China's Hubei reports no new COVID-19 cases

WUHAN, April 2 (Xinhua)-- No newly confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) were reported for Wednesday in central China's Hubei Province, the provincial health commission said Thursday.

The province saw six new deaths, which were all reported in the provincial capital of Wuhan Wednesday.

The province also confirmed 37 asymptomatic COVID-19 patients Wednesday, bringing the total to 721, all of whom had been put under medical observation by the end of Wednesday.

One hundred and forty-five COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospital after recovery Wednesday. Among the 1,132 patients being treated in hospital, 280 were still in severe condition and 120 others in critical condition.

Hubei has so far reported 67,802 confirmed COVID-19 cases in total, including 50,007 in Wuhan.
