ACCRA, April 7 (Xinhua) -- Ghana has recorded 73 new COVID-19 cases to push its total number of confirmed cases to 287, the Ghana Health Service (GHS) said close to midnight on Monday.
It said officials recorded the additional numbers through the ongoing enhanced contact tracing and testing across the country.
Besides, the GHS said 26 more of the travelers who had been under mandatory quarantine between March 21 and April 4, who had tested negative earlier converted to positive during their second testing.
The most dominant age group among those infected in Ghana is between the ages of 25 and 34, while the least dominant age bracket is those between ages 15 and 24.
For the gender distribution, there are more males than females among those infected, with the number of deaths remaining at five, and three full recoveries, while two remain moderately ill.
Also, six out of the 16 regions (provinces) in the country have so far recorded cases of the COVID-19 pandemic, while three cities are under lockdown as the government fights to contain and eradicate the disease.
