KHOST, Afghanistan, April 21 (Xinhua) -- Six persons were injured as a car bombing targeted the vehicle of a provincial governor in Khost city, the capital of eastern Khost province on Tuesday, provincial government spokesman Talib Mangal said.
The blast took place at around 10:00 a.m. local time when the governor was on the way to office, Mangal said, adding that "six people including two bodyguards of the governor and four passersby" were injured and the governor was unhurt.
The official added that investigation had been initiated into the incident.
Taliban militants who are active in parts of Khost and the Neighboring Paktia and Paktika provinces haven't commented.
