TAIPEI, April 26 (Xinhua) -- A total of 22 people have been sent to hospital after being rescued from a fire at a karaoke bar in Taipei Sunday morning, according to the city's fire department.

Three of them showed no signs of life, and two others are unconscious, the fire department said.

The fire broke out at around 10:57 a.m. at the karaoke bar, located on the fifth floor of the building, and was put out about half an hour later.

Rescue and search efforts are still going on and the cause of the accident is under investigation, the department said.
