TASHKENT, April 28 (Xinhua) -- A strong wind left one killed and 30 people injured overnight in the south-central regions of Uzbekistan, the Uzbek Emergency Ministry said Tuesday.
The wind blowing at a speed of 9-40 meters per second moved in from neighboring Turkmenistan, causing disruption in Bukhara, Navoi, Samarkand and Kashkadarya regions of Uzbekistan, the ministry said in a statement.
"The gusts left the most severe consequences in the Bukhara region, where a number of social facilities were damaged ... 30 people were injured, among whom 26 people were provided with first aid, five people hospitalized, and one in serious condition," it said.
More than 700 personnel and 127 units of special equipment were impacted by the natural disaster, according to the ministry. Enditem
