LHASA, May 7 (Xinhua) -- Southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region poured nearly 3.8 billion yuan (535 million U.S. dollars) in funding students of the region in 2019, up 11.38 percent compared with the levels of the previous year, regional authorities said.
Nearly 2 million people benefited from the funds, up 14.56 percent compared with the number in 2018, the regional department of education revealed in a statement.
These students were from various educational stages, including preschool and higher education levels.
The statement said the region has built a funding system covering all educational stages of public and private schools. All students from families with financial difficulties have also been covered by the system. Enditem
