QINGDAO, China, July 4 (Xinhua) -- Wu Qian had a game-high 35 points to lead the Zhejiang Golden Bulls to a 109-98 victory over the Zhejiang Lions in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) on Saturday.
The Bulls resorted to their defensive tactics to force their rivals to make errors and led the first period 27-17.
Hu Jinqiu of the Lions received Sun Minghui's assist for a jumper to try hard to catch up, but the score was further widened in the second quarter. Wu paced the Bulls to lead 60-35 into the second half with tough defense and fast breaks.
Sun scored 18 points in the third period to help the Lions make up some ground. However, the Bulls led 86-69 into the last quarter. After the Lions closed to only nine points, Wu stepped forward again, making one of his free throws, delivering a back pass for a layup, executing a three-pointer to win the game.
