BEIJING, July 7 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday sent a congratulatory message to Luis Abinader on his election as the Dominican Republic's president.
In his message, Xi said since China and the Dominican Republic established diplomatic ties more than two years ago, their relations have, through joint efforts, grown rapidly, political mutual trust has been continuously strengthened, and fruitful results have been achieved in their practical cooperation in various fields.
Xi said he attaches great importance to the development of the bilateral relations, and is ready to work with President-elect Abinader to deepen friendly exchanges and cooperation between the two sides, and to advance their relations for further development, so as to better benefit the two countries and peoples. ■
