SUVA, July 10 (Xinhua) -- Fiji reported on Friday five new COVID-19 cases, bringing the number of active cases to eight in the island nation since July 6.
Fiji's Acting Permanent Secretary for the Health Ministry James Fong said the new cases are a 44-year-old man, a 21-year-old man, a 47-year-old man, a 51-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman. One of them is the husband of a previously confirmed patient who was tested positive on Tuesday.
All the eight active cases were among the 107 passengers on the same repatriation flight from India last Saturday.
The newly-confirmed infections are in stable condition and have been transferred to isolation facilities in Nadi, Fiji's third largest city and Lautoka, Fiji's second largest city.
Fiji had reported a total of 18 COVID-19 patients since it confirmed its first case on March 19, and all of them have fully recovered before June 5. Enditem
