BUENOS AIRES, Aug. 24 (Xinhua) -- Argentina confirmed a record single-day high of 8,713 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, bringing the country's caseload to 350,867, its Health Ministry said.
The country also saw a record single-day high of 381 new deaths from COVID-19 on the day, raising the country's total tally of COVID-19 deaths to 7,366, according to data released by the ministry.
Of the total confirmed cases, 60.8 percent were community transmission cases, and only 0.3 percent were imported, the ministry said.
Most of the confirmed cases are patients aged 20-59, and the average age of patients who died from the disease is 73, it said. Enditem
