JERUSALEM, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) -- Israel's Ministry of Health reported 2,926 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday, bringing the total to 121,464.
It is the highest daily rise since the outbreak of the pandemic in Israel in late February, as the previous record was 2,308, registered on July 28.
The death toll rose to 969, with 12 new deaths, while the number of patients in serious condition increased from 414 to 423, out of 843 patients currently hospitalized.
The number of recoveries reached 97,234, with 1,020 new recoveries, while the number of active cases rose to 23,261.
Earlier on Wednesday, Israeli Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency medical service reported that antibodies in recovered Israeli coronavirus patients significantly decreased within only a few weeks.
Furthermore, tests conducted by MDA's blood services among recovered patients also found that more than 17 percent did not develop COVID-19 antibodies at all. Enditem
