HARBIN, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- The water levels of 15 rivers in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province have exceeded their warning marks due to continuous rainfall brought by Typhoon Maysak, local authorities said Friday.
On Friday, 16 hydrological observation stations along the rivers saw water levels above the alert marks by 0.03 to 1.44 meters, according to the provincial water resources department.
The province issued a yellow alert for floods Thursday, warning of possible floods in its 19 counties, cities and districts.
A total of 142 flights were canceled and eight others delayed at the Harbin Taiping International Airport in the provincial capital on Thursday, according to the airport. The operations of four trains were temporarily suspended, said the China Railway Harbin Group Co., Ltd.
More wind and rain are forecast around Monday as the province feels the effect of Typhoon Haishen, the 10th typhoon of the year, according to the provincial meteorological department. Enditem
