XI'AN, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- A new airport opened for operation Friday in northwest China's Shaanxi Province.
The CZ5269 flight departing from south China's Guangzhou City early Friday landed at the new Airport, which is located in the city of Ankang, to mark the inauguration of the airport.
Medium-sized aircraft types such as the Boeing 737, Airbus 320, and the home-grown C919 will be able to take off and land here, said a manager at the airport.
In addition to the route to Guangzhou, flights to Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Chongqing will be available at the airport, according to the manager.
Construction of the regional airport started in December 2015, and the airport certification was granted on Sept. 18 following test runs. Enditem
