BOGOTA, Oct. 2 (Xinhua) -- The number of COVID-19 infections in Colombia rose to 841,531 in the past 24 hours after tests detected 6,192 new cases, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection said Friday.
The death toll climbed to 26,397 after 201 more fatalities were reported over the same period of time.
A total of 753,953 patients have so far recovered, the ministry added.
On Friday, Health Minister Fernando Ruiz stressed that since the COVID-19 pandemic began, the number of intensive care units in the country has doubled, from 5,346 in February to 10,691 in October. Enditem
