BEIRUT, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- Massive fires erupted on Friday in forests in southern and northern Lebanon, the National News Agency reported.
The fires erupted in several areas in southern Lebanon including Jezzine, Nabatieh, Tyre, and different other regions in northern Lebanon.
The Lebanese army and civil defense teams rushed to the areas to extinguish fires and helicopters of the UN Interim Force in Lebanon were also deployed.
One firefighter and two citizens were injured in Aita al-Shaab southern Lebanon due to the fire. Material damages were also reported.
Lebanon has been witnessing a high level of temperature in the past few days with low humidity levels. Enditem
