BEIJING, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) -- China's first English-language publication offering research in the field of remote sensing has been launched online, the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) said Wednesday.
The Journal of Remote Sensing is an open-access academic journal published in affiliation with the academy's Aerospace Information Research Institute and distributed by the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
The journal will publish articles involving the progress of science and technology of remote sensing, as well as research results of remote sensing in areas such as resources and environment, disaster monitoring and interdisciplinary applications.
It will also focus on the most innovative, pioneering and exploratory remote sensing studies worldwide, to promote international academic exchanges, according to an institute statement.
Wu Yirong, head of the institute and a CAS academician, is the chief editor of the journal. The editorial board has drawn 30 experts from countries including China, the United States, France, Australia and India.
