INNER MONGOLIA, Oct. 18 (Xinhua) -- Badain Jaran Desert is located in Alxa League, north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It is the third-largest desert in China.
China has been trying to afforest major deserts to curb their expansion. The southern edge of Badain Jaran Desert, for example, has formed a forest belt, and most sand dunes have stopped moving.
